Get to Know Carrie Headington

Carrie Headington is an evangelist, apologist, justice advocate, and good news herald. Carrie’s passion is to see people come to know the abounding unconditional love of God and the abundant life found in Jesus Christ. Carrie speaks throughout the US and around the globe, sharing the good news of Jesus with spiritual seekers and Christians alike. Carrie addresses topics that burn in the human heart and mind, such as: finding purpose and peace in life, where is God when life hurts, the reliability of the Bible, how can we be agents for justice in an unjust world, and finding joy and strength in everyday life through Jesus.

Carrie is the founder of The Good News Initiative which provides resources in evangelism. She works with all Christian denominations and non-denominations, engaging in evangelistic speaking, apologetics, and equipping congregations to be the hands, feet, and mouthpieces for Jesus in their everyday lives.

 

Carrie graduated seminary from Oxford University (Wycliffe Hall), where she focused on evangelism and apologetics. Prior to Oxford, Carrie received a BA from Yale University (major in History and minor in Theatre Studies) and an MA from Harvard University in Education with a focus in Urban Poverty Policy. Carrie worked as an actor for a decade appearing in numerous television, film, and theatre projects, including Fox and CBS Movies of the week, and various films. Carrie is an associate evangelist for British Evangelist Canon J.John’s Philotrust and is active in the Lausanne Movement, the Luis Palau Next-Gen Network, and is a frequent blogger writing for Christianity’s Today’s Exchange with Ed Stetzer, and The Living Church Covenant Blog. Carrie appears on My Faith Radio on Afternoons With Bill Arnold and has appeared on Daystar Television. 

Carrie is an adjunct professor for Fuller Theological Seminary teaching evangelism and church planting. Carrie serves as the Canon Evangelist for the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas. Carrie is a published author with chapters in The Gospel and Pluralism Today: Reassessing Lesslie Newbigin in the 21st Century (InterVarsity Press); Acts to Action: The New Testament Guide to Mission and Evangelism (Forward Movement); and Sent to Flourish: Church Planting Today (IVP Academic).  Carrie is married to Greg, founder of the Global Faith Project, (www.globalfaithproject.org)  a ministry serving inner-city Dallas, Cuba, N. Africa, France, and Latin America. Together they share a lifelong commitment to caring for the poor and equipping the church to be good news.


Mission of the Good News Initiative

The Good News Initiative is dedicated to helping people meet Jesus, know Jesus, and share Jesus. Founder of the Good News Initiative Carrie Boren Headington speaks to Christians, seekers and skeptics alike, sharing the abounding life-giving good news of Jesus Christ. Carrie also leads workshops and conferences focused on equipping followers of Jesus to share their faith in word and action in everyday life. We have good news in Jesus Christ! Let’s spread it!
